Alexander von Gabain, PhD

Alexander von Gabain, PhDAlexander von Gabain is co-founder and CEO of Intercell AG. Previously, he was Chairman of the Department of Microbiology and Genetics of the University of Vienna and held various leading research positions including posts at the Universities of Heidelberg, Stanford and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, where he served as professor of medical biotechnology and later as foreign adjunct professor. Alexander von Gabain is a member of numerous professional organizations, co-publisher of scientific journals and has established a strong worldwide network through his work as a consultant to pharmaceutical companies and co-organizer of prestigious conferences.

Alexandra Goll, PhD

Alexandra Goll, PhDAlexandra Goll is General Partner at TVM Capital. She has been responsible for about 10 TVM investments since she joined the company in early 1998, including as initial investor in Actelion Ltd (Allschwil, CH) and lead investor of the second round of Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Cambridge, MA) where she was a member of the Supervisory Board until the closure of the Novartis transaction in May 2003. She serves on the Board or represents the interests of TVM at Addex Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Arrow Therapeutics Ltd., Axxima Pharmaceuticals AG, MediGene AG, Pharmasset Ltd., Ark Therapeutics Ltd., Wilex AG and Zeptosens AG. Prior to her affiliation with TVM, Alexandra Goll was the Global Business Leader for HIV and CMV, and was responsible for strategic marketing and business development for Virology at Roche Ltd. in Basel. She holds a degree in pharmacy from the Free University of Berlin.

He is with Kapital & Wert since 1982, responsible for IT, finance and personnel. He is also member of the Supervisory Boards of several investee companies including Intercell AG, apc Interactive Solutions AG and Bank Frick & Co AG.

Prof. Thomas D. Szucs

Prof. Dr Thomas SzucsProf. Dr Thomas Szucs is Chairman of the Board of Directors of BB Biotech AG, an investment company specialized in biotech which holds about CHF 1.7 billion in biotech shares. Core holdings include public biotech companies such as Actelion, Genentech, Celgene and Gilead. Professor Szucs is a physician, health economist and academic economist with more than 25 years of professional experience. Throughout his career, he held leading positions at hospitals and universities as well as in the pharmaceutical industry. His tenures include head of the department of health economics at Hoffmann-La Roche and Chief Medical Officer of Hirslanden Holding. Prof. Szucs is also Co-Chairman at the European Centre of Pharmaceutical Medicine and member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals and has published more than 200 articles, book chapters and monographies.

Prof. Bernd Wetzel, PhD

Prof. Bernd Wetzel, PhDBernd Wetzel serves as consultant to the biotechnology industry following an outstanding scientific and industrial career. During his almost 30 years in the global pharmaceutical industry he held various senior management positions, including the position of CSO and member of the Board of Boehringer-Germany, then Head of Worldwide Research and Non-clinical Development, responsible for Boehringer`s international research sites with more than 3.000 people. He possesses a PhD in synthetic and theoretical organic chemistry and was appointed Honorary Professor at Munich University in 1990 lecturing Medicinal Chemistry. He also serves on the Advisory or Supervisory Boards of Techno Venture Management, Atugen AG, Biofrontera AG, Direvo Biotech AG, and Proteros Biostructures GmbH.
